I often struggle with discipline because I am so focused on the rewards of the moment that it often-times just doesn't feel worth it to commit to doing something. Sometimes this leads to regret as I may be missing opportunities. Honestly I take comfort in the fact I did what I wanted to do in the moment even if it doesn't seem that way looking back. Any thoughts?

Your statement is a little vague. Are we talking about finishing something to completion? Depending on what you're doing I would say as long as you enjoyed yourself seeing it to the end isn't that important. However, if it is something that needs to be finished to completion then it's just a matter of getting your mind right. Plan ahead, tell yourself you're going to do whatever it is at that time and do it.

It's great to live for the moment, but sometimes you've got to think about whether the end goals are better. In regards to something like studying, you're not going to be there forever, and you'll probably regret not making the most of things if you know you could've done much better. I regretted not working so hard in school, but made up for all of that at University. If this is related to goals in terms of weight loss and fitness, I think you need to do what makes you personally happy. Dieting and a healthy lifestyle isn't just a quick fix for results, and you have to maintain it continuously. Something like that is more about finding the balance, rather than giving your all for a shorter period of time.

It's really easy for me to commit to something in the moment (sure I can help you do that!) but the problem is later when it comes time to follow through on that promise I might be more interested in doing something else. Start out with long term strategies and short term goals. Learn from mistakes to adjust those short term goals to better position yourself in your long term strategy. Eventually you'll find yourself in a position where you can make the leap to embracing your strategy outcome as your goal... that is an exciting moment because you can be much more specific about a goal then a strategy, and there it has the benefit of informing back on your lifes journey as one interconnected piece of werk. So when someone says your a piece of werk, you can say you bet I am!! We just have to make sure we look good doing it.

I'm so angry today that I am RED with RAGE. A perfect example of Regret and discipline, and I was push to my limit of both.
I don't even think I want to think about it enough to write this post.
I often see just too much stupidity and uglyness in the world around me. I regret that. It takes a lot of discipline for me to not say something to total idiots. When I get pushed over the edge I often say very regretful things. I normally just stay quiet but the situation was hopeless and was getting worse to the point I had to make a command decision to save lives and many families. This was against my authority and I may regret that. However Discipline has also taught me to not just stand idly by when I can advert a disaster with a command spoken in less than 10 seconds. I dragged two men with me into an office and quite plainly told them how badly they just Fucked Up. These were my direct supervisors, and now because of them I am obligated to send this up the food chain of bureaucracy. This fucks up my life, too because it is so burdensome and annoying to deal with that brand of stupidity.
I walk off the job at that moment. I said maybe, when asked If I'll be in for my shift in the morning. Will it be discipline if I do?
I honestly don't know if I want to return, and I mostly regret that right now. No 'so called job you do for fun' should make you feel this way. Even working for money to support a family wouldn't make it right. How can I ever respect those men ever again?
I regret sometimes that I'm not a quitter, and I know I will calm down and go to work, but they sure have every alarm bell in my head ringing and I seriously doubt that will ever go away till certain people make some very drastic changes, NOW.
Yes, This is my real life. Today, I feel emotionally a wreck, I regret it.

Iknew I would end up tired and and tears, but crying always seems to get me very spiteful in some cases especially when I know God was on my side and seemed to want me there at that moment when it was just by chance Things like this gives me chills after the adrenaline wears off and the reality of a long nightmare is ahead tor you from out of the heavens like a personal curse. God really want's me to retire, and take a safe job away from adults. I retired as Chief Operating Officer at my previous employer because of nearly the exact same reasons. I no longer wanted to be held responsible for untrained and distracted people. 2 near misses. What is God going to threaten me with, third time a Hit? I almost better not risk it and stay out of certain parts of the office and try to avoid certain people.

Big hug HeavenLeighbimbo been there quit my job my discipline was at its limit I grew up taught to work hard and be respectful i held my discipline for so long my pride was on the line but I was just so mad and really the stress just wasn't worth it I worked too hard to be an escape goat for a lazy manager and her whipped gossip train of a lead hand. Its hard to be disciplined sometimes but sometime it can put your health at risk
