No one posted or sent any concern regarding Bloody Valentine, no even players who suddenly found it gross, so it made its way to the poll and received the most votes.The fact it received the most votes probably doesn't lie in that some psycho lovers killers voted for it. Most likely it was voted because it's February and Valentine day so it fits, but at the same time it's different than typical romantic and saccharine Valentine themes we had in past few years that became boring and repetitive.Also as stated before, a lot of bimbos and himbos here have a background in emo and goth subcultures so this theme was appealing.Blaming this theme now means blaming and calling out all players who actually voted for it and it is not really Ok. Next time when any of you have any concern regarding some there feel free to post it in public or to message PB, your SM or any of FGs (bimbo police). lemona, i'm sorry for putting you in a defensive position and being insensitive. i am admittedly severely internet poisoned and often people online will take the position of "you're not allowed to enjoy this" due to various reasons. like i literally saw someone say u can't enjoy legend of korra because one of the characters is similar to a real world genocidal dictator and i'm so used to seeing discussions like that unfold. so i have a tendency to greatly misinterpret intent and my brain snapped into discourse mode and that was totally inappropriate for the situation, you were literally just voicing your feelings and it was not my place to chime in. i should have supported those feelings you expressed instead of justifying my enjoyment of something that is triggering to another person, it just didn't need to be said. sorry for the long post and also i'm posting here bc i don't want to bother you with a pm but yeah.

- Defensive? What for? For informing new player on how picking theme works? For facing you with facts and possible negative impacts? Ok, if being unbiased and straightforward is what you consider as 'defensive', alright, let it be.
- I wanted to air different point of view. Is that forbidden?
- Because it does make people uncomfortable and we already had a chance to see it, a few times.
- If that was brought up in the period while players were giving suggestions, before the poll, maybe this theme would have been discarded and wouldn't ended up in the poll. Pretty simple, so no one would have felt uncomfortable. Some themes indeed were discarded if they were offensive, disturbing, repeating and such. You are at least older player and were member of PH so you know how it works. No need for switching thesis and twisting the point the way it suits you if aim for open and calm discussion :)

I was also pretty uncomfortable with the theme because it resonates for me around--frankly, the domestic violence and intimate partner violence that has affected folks in my family and community, including some deaths--and the only way I made it work for me was to turn it into a revenge-for-catcalling-and-assault-I-have-experienced look, which ended up feeling sort of cathartic and good? But I also don't think it's bad EITHER for people to say, "hey, this theme is fucked up, OR for the folks who voted for it to just sit with the knowledge that the thing they voted for has hurt people. Likewise I don't think it's bad for violence survivors to respond to the theme in some way, or to run in the other direction. Like it or not, fashion and the way we talk about this are powerful.
